About the Artist

Marie Crane Yvon is an artist who is dedicated to the transformative power of color and the limitless possibilities of expression. For over 30 years, she has developed paint techniques that stretch beyond the decorative arts into the expansive field of contemporary abstract expressionism. She approaches each piece with an experiential and intuitive style, driven by a deep passion for the creative process.

Along with fine art supplies, Marie employs a combination of materials that are traditionally associated with tradesmen: plaster, stains, dyes, spray paint, urethane, etc. Through experience, she is able to surpass her initial ideas, explore uncharted territory, producing artwork that evokes deep emotion, a visual journey through the interplay of color, texture, and form. Capturing light through branches becomes perfecting a single branch, while layering and building depth and interest on foliage informs pools of water and moody landscapes.

Marie shares, “As an artist, I hold a strong belief in the healing energy of our creative spirit. I am drawn to moments of beauty that can be found in contrast and connection, veiled shadow and glimmering light. Join me in exploring the spaces in between, where peace is patiently wait to be discovered.”
